Lough Ree Charity Pike Competition results
On Sunday 21st of November we held Charity Pike Competition for a special boy- 4 years old Wojtek who is fighting a battle for his life against cancer!

Our event was held on majestic Lough Ree at Lanesborough, where we met early in the morning in a search of big Irish pike, however our main aim was to raise as much money as we could for our buddy Wojtek!
It was catch, photo and release competition and to report fish, we used Xtramarlin App. Behind the App was our referee Maciej Zejmo who kindly let us to use his App. All fish were accepted within first minute after uploading and after short rest in the landing net they were approved by our referee and released safely.
42 anglers took part in the competition and caught 31 pike, including 2 fish over magical 1m mark. Fishing was pretty slow and most of participants blanked, but it wasn’t that important for us.
Big congratulations to my buddy Dawid for catching the biggest fish of the competition 20 min before final cast was made.
Andrius Bikelis with 102cm Lough Ree pike.
Dawid Kopczynski with a massive 106cm pike. The biggest fish of the competition.
After the competition we enjoyed a free BBQ for everyone. Our friend Beata made delicious hot soup which was perfect after cold day on the water and some sweet treats to sweeten up all blanked casts 🙂
To raise more money for Wojtek we also had a raffle with £100 voucher for Baracuda Angling Centre in Dunnganon. Draw was done on prize giving and the lucky number 58 was taken by Mikolaj Golonka. Congratulations!
The main prize of the competition was St.Croix Mojo Musky rod and I was lucky enough to win it. However as a St.Croix dealer there was only right thing to do- to give it away to raise more money for Wojtek. The rod will be raffled this week to gain more funds for boy in need.
I’m proud to announce that during this event (including direct GoFundMe donation) we raised over 2200€. That’s not all as we still have a lot of fishing gear to auction/raffle including mentioned above St.Croix Mojo Musky rod.
I would like to thank everyone who sponsored prizes for our event. Big thanks to Lloyd Kearney, Jacek Gorny from L.Corr Handmade Lures, Barracuda Angling Centre, Team Snapbaits, Sukre and to Paul Burke and Herman Molenaar for sponsoring guided fishing trips on Lough Derg and Mel Handmade Lures.
Huge thanks to Polish Shop “Smak Tradycji” from Newbridge for sponsoring our BBQ and team Beata & Marcin for cooking for us on that cold day!
I would like to thank everyone who couldn’t attend our competition but still paid an entry fee to support this great cause!
You are all legends!
Thank you for an awesome day!
